McEwen rink receives Brier pre-qualification

Saskatoon’s Team Mike McEwen is one of six teams — three for the Brier and three for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts — that have received a prequalification for the 2025 competitions.

McEwen finished second at the 2024 Montana’s Brier in Regina.

It’s the first time that teams who are not reigning champions have pre-qualified a spot in their Scotties Tournament of Hearts or Brier competitions.

In April 2023, Curling Canada updated the pre-qualification methods to increase the number of pre-qualified teams from two to three by including teams from the Canadian Team Rankings System.
