Senft, Canada fall to New Zealand
Regina’s Gabrielle Senft and the Canadian women’s rugby team fell 36-14 to New Zealand in their second match of the 2026 Pacific Four Series.
Following the loss, Canada now sits third in the World Rugby rankings and will look ahead to their next match against the United States on April 24, in Chicago.
Major trains with Canada’s National Softball Team ahead of World Cup
Max Major, who hails from Delisle, has joined the Canadian U23 Men’s National Softball Team in Florida to train ahead of the WBSC U23 Men’s World Cup that is set to take place from April 25 to May 3, in Sincelejo, Colombia.
At the World Cup, Canada will compete in Group B against Venezuela, Australia, Singapore and Denmark.
Saskatchewan divers compete at 2026 American Cup
Two Saskatchewan divers represented the maple leaf at the 2026 American Cup from April 16-19, in Fort Lauderdale.
Lila Stewart, of Saskatoon, competed in the women’s 3-metre event and finished fifth overall with 287.85 points.
Meanwhile on the men’s side, Tazman Abramowicz, who trains out of Saskatoon, finished tenth in the 3-m semifinal with 305.15 points and did not advance to finals.
