Team Canada dazzled their way to gold and bronze
Team Canada delivered a breakthrough performance in Pontevedra, Spain for the World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup and commemorated their time with gold and bronze medals.
Regina-born Kenzie Priddell joined Canada in the pool to finish first in the acrobatic team event with 129.1892 points for execution, 24.0995 for difficulty and 88.1000 for artistic impression, bringing Canada to 217.2892 points overall.
The Canadians didn’t stop there, as they also secured bronze in the team free event with 115.5929 points for execution, 70.1775 for difficulty and 113.7750 for artistic impression, bringing Canada to 229.3679 points overall.
Bullseye for Sask. archers at 2026 Canada Cup West
Numerous Saskatchewan archers travelled to Cranbrook, British Columbia, from June 5-7 for the 2026 Canada Cup West.
Osler’s Payton Harms finished fourth in the women’s compound U2/21+ event after falling 130-125 against Alberta’s Meagan Adam.
In the women’s U18/50+ compound event, Colonsay’s Bailey Butler had a bye to 1/4 play against Manitoba’s Acadia Flockton, which she lost 133-118.
Meanwhile, on the men’s side, Meacham’s Ryker Harriman and Saskatoon’s Terry Stribbell secured placement on the podium in the U18/50+ compound event. Harriman claimed silver after falling 127-141 to B.C’s Wyatt Toye, while Stribbell secured bronze after defeating America’s Lee Hetletved 138-131.
In addition, Saskatoon’s Augustine Schmidt finished second in the men’s U18/50+ recurve event after defeating America’s Shizhe Wu, before falling to Matthew He.
Tonita-Charriez at 2026 FISU World University Combat Championships
Wrestling Canada Lutte announced that Javier Tonita-Charriez, who hails from Regina, is among the 20 athletes set to represent the nation at the 2026 FISU World University Combat Championships from June 8-12 in Brasilia, Brazil.
Tonita-Charriez will compete in the 57-kilogram freestyle event.
Fifth for Team Sask. at wheelchair nationals
Team Saskatchewan finished fifth at the 2026 Junior National Championship for wheelchair basketball in Quebec City.
After going 1-3 through preliminary play, Saskatchewan took placement after Manitoba forfeited the match to play for 5th and 6th place.
Lucas Floer, of Saskatoon, was named Saskatchewan’s All-Star of the tournament.
