Dash joins Canada at World Wheelchair Curling Championship
Team Canada and Wolseley’s Gil Dash have had a mixed start to the 2025 World Wheelchair Curling Championship, taking place March 1-8 in Stevenston, Scotland.
Following their latest win, defeating the host team 12-6 on Tuesday, Canada sits fourth in standings with a 4-3 record. Prior, the Canadians had a pattern of wins and losses, falling to Norway, Korea and England, while claiming victory over the United States, Japan and Latvia.
They’ll wrap round robin play March 6, with games against China and Italy.
The championship will determine the final qualification points for the 2026 Milano Cortina Paralympic Games.

Two Saskatchewan teams at 2025 Montana’s Brier
Saskatchewan is well represented at the 2025 Montana’s Brier in Kelowna, with Team McEwen and Team Kleiter, who both hail from Saskatoon.
Joining skip Mike McEwen at the top of Pool B standings is lead Daniel Marsh, second Kevin Marsh, third Colton Flasch and alternate Brent Laing. Following their 7-5 victory over the Yukon Tuesday afternoon, Team McEwen has a 5-0 record.
Meanwhile, skip Rylan Kleiter, lead Trevor Johnson, second Matthew Hall, third Joshua Mattern and alternate John Mattern have a 2-2 record following their 6-3 loss to Alberta and sit fifth in Pool B standings.
Round robin play will conclude March 6.

Three Saskatchewan athletes named to Team Canada
Softball Canada announced the roster for the 2025 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball Pan American Championship, which features three Saskatchewan players.
Prince Albert’s Ryan Bicknell will join Delisle’s Will and Max Major from May 1-11 in La Pampa, Argentina.
The championship will serve as a qualifier for the 2026 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball World Cup.
