Saskatchewan fourth at National Women’s U18 Hockey Championship
Team Saskatchewan concluded their time at the 2024 U18 Women’s National Hockey Championship in New Brunswick with a fourth-place finish after falling 4-2 to British Columbia in the bronze-medal final.
After defeating Team Ontario Blue 5-4 in quarterfinals, Saskatchewan advanced to the semifinal game against Quebec, where they fell 2-1 to play for bronze.

Fish on Team Canada speed skating roster
Graeme Fish, who hails from Moose Jaw, was named to Canada’s speed skating team for the 2024-25 international season.
Fish will attend three competitions in Japan and China during the season, with his first being the ISU Four Continents Speed Skating Championship from Nov. 15-17 in Hachinohe City, Japan.
Team Ackerman shines in silver
On Nov. 9, Saskatchewan wrapped their time at the 2024 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship and took home second place.
In their final round robin play, Team Ackerman had back-to-back wins, bringing their record to 6-0, before they advanced through the championship pool.
Saskatchewan defeated Alberta 7-1 in semifinal action and earned a spot to play for gold against Nova Scotia. After a close match, Team Ackerman took silver, falling 5-4 to Team Purcell.

Pletz to represent Canada at biathlete World Cup
After receiving two wins and one runner-up finish at national team trials, Regina’s Logan Pletz was among eight biathletes named to Canada’s IBU World Cup Team.
The IBU World Cup season is set to begin on Nov. 30 in Kontiolahti, Finland.
Clark, Shirely compete in first half of Rivalry Series
Saskatoon’s Sophie Shirley and Emily Clark joined Team Canada for the first half of the 2024-25 Rivalry Series from Nov. 6-10.
In California for Game 1 of the series, Canada fell 7-2, before making a comeback in Utah for Game 2, with a 5-4 victory and an assist on the first goal by Clark.
Team Canada brought the heat for Game 3 in Idaho, defeating the United States 4-1, with Clark securing the final goal.
The series will return in 2025 for the final two games, taking place February 6 in Halifax, and February 8 in Summerside, P.E.I.
