Senft and Team Canada qualify for WXV tournament in New Zealand
Gabrielle Senft from Regina joined Canada’s Women’s Rugby team for a final game, July 14th at the 2023 World Rugby Pacific Four Series in Ottawa.
Canada started the 2023 Pacific Four Series with mixed results and won the first game 50-17 against the United States on April 1, before being defeated by New Zealand 52-21 on July 8.
In the final game of the series, Canada placed second and defeated Australia 45-7, securing their place in the WXV tournament October 21, in New Zealand.
Joining Canada in the top tier is New Zealand, in first and Australia in third. The USA will attend WXV in the second tier.

Moran is set to represent Canada at World Archery Championships in Berlin
Prince Albert’s Tristan Moran will be joining two other archers on Team Canada from July 31 to August 6 for the World Archery Championships in Berlin, Germany.
Canada’s team members were asked to submit their intent and eligible scores to qualify for the championships. Berlin will be Moran’s first time attending a Senior World Championship and the event serves as the highest level of competition for compound archers.
The event will kick off July 31, with official practice and close August 6 with recurve finals.
Priddell and mother daughter Carroll duo, attend 2023 World Aquatics Championships
Kenzie Priddell as well as mother-daughter duo Mary and Syndey Carroll are in Fukuoka, Japan from July 14-27 at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships, competing for a place on the podium.
Kenzie Priddell from Regina is competing in multiple artistic swim categories. Priddell and her partner sit in 18th after the Duet Technical preliminary and 6th overall in Team Acrobatic routine. Saskatoon’s Sydney Carroll was on Team Canada with Priddell for Team Technical preliminary, which they placed 14th in.
Meanwhile, Mary Carroll from Saskatoon is coaching with the Canadian diving team for the duration of the event.
Rylan Wiens from Pike Lake was set to attend the championships, but suffered a back injury that forced him to withdraw.
Hebert announced to join Team Bottcher at the 2024 Brier event in Regina
Ben Hebert from Regina, will be joining Team Bottcher as their lead at the 2024 Brier event March 1-10, hosted in his hometown.
Hebert and his team will compete for the honour of representing Canada at the 2024 World Men’s Curling Championship from March 3 to April 7 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Team Bottcher is set to compete against 14 others for a chance to qualify for Switzerland.
