Sask. pair at Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship

Surrey, B.C. is playing host to the 2026 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship from March 21-27, as teams play for the right to represent Canada at the 2027 World Mixed Doubles Championship.

Representing Martensville on the sheet is Rylan Kleiter and Nancy Martin, who currently sit with a 2-2 record after opening their time at the championship with a 5-8 loss before making a comeback with a 12-1 win.

After a close match that saw the Saskatchewan duo fall 7-6, they added another win due to Team Christianson/Mosher forfeiting.

Three Sask. officials to join 2026 domestic championship season

Wheelchair Basketball Canada has announced the 44 classifiers, referee supervisors and referees that will officiate three national tournaments in the 2026 domestic championship season.

Saskatoon referees Sean Baergen and Melissa Meacham will join Saskatoon classifier Tami Turner this season.

Women’s 7s compete two weeks in a row for HSBC SVNS series

The Canadian Women’s Sevens Team had back-to-back stops for the HSBC SVNS series this month.

From March 7-8, Waldheim’s Carissa Norsten led the team in Vancouver to a fifth-place finish. After facing three losses in a row, the red and white made a 19-12 comeback over Japan in 5th place semifinals, before defeating Fiji 26-19 in playoffs.

The following week in New York saw Canada experience another run of loses, before securing a 22-14 win over Great Britian in the 7th place playoff game. Norsten did not play due to an injury.

The Canadians will travel to Hong Kong next month for the HSBC Hong Kong SVNS, taking place April 17–19.

Four Sask. divers to compete at Canada Cup

Saskatchewan will be well represented at the Canada Cup in Windsor, Ontario, which will be taking place from April 9-12.

Margo Erlam and Tazman Aramowicz, who both train out of Saskatoon, will join Saskatoon’s Kash Tarasoff and Pike Lake’s Rylan Wiens on the international stage.
