Canadian Sport Centre Saskatchewan is proud to partner with Sask Sport to recognize June as Gender and Sexual Diversity Pride Month in the province.
Each Friday in June, Sask Sport will publish articles celebrating Pride Month through the eyes of sport. Additionally, CSCS will be participating in Pride Parades in Saskatoon and Regina.
The following national resources contain additional information and guidance on how to create a safe, supportive and welcoming atmosphere in sport for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Created by the Canadian Olympic Committee in collaboration with You Can Play and Egale Canada, the One Team initiative aspires to fight gender-based discrimination, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and any other type of discrimination in sport.
Founded during the 2015 Pan American Games, the Sport Inclusion Task Force is steered by the Canadian Olympic Committee, Professional Golfers Association of Canada, Canadian Women & Sport, the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary and Challenge Accepted Collective. The group’s website launched in 2021 with the aim of supporting national, provincial/territorial and local or club sport organizations who wish to make their organizations more equitable, diverse and inclusive for those who identify as members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport
The CCES provides information and resources on topics like supporting gender diversity, creating inclusive environments for trans participants, and advocating for athletes with differences of sexual development.
