Three Sask. forwards wrap their time representing Canada
On Aug. 16, Boylston’s Kendall Doiron and Saskatoon’s Alida Korte wrapped their three-game series against the United States with Canada’s National Women’s U18 Hockey Team. The red and white won their first game 4-1, before falling 3-2 and 3-1 in the final two matches of the exhibition.
Meanwhile, Stryker Zablocki of Prince Albert, concluded her time with Canada’s National Women’s Development Team for a separate three-game series against the United States. After opening with back-to-back losses, Canada was able to edge the U.S. to a 7-6 loss to end on a high.
St. Amant to represent Canada at World Archery Youth Championships
Jordy St. Amant, who hails from Edam, is preparing to represent the nation at the World Archery Youth Championships from Aug. 20-24 in Winnipeg.
St. Amant will compete in outdoor target shooting events.
Gold for Grassick and Team Canada
Canada’s 3×3 women’s team shines in gold after an outstanding performance at the 2025 Pan American Games in Luque, Paraguay.
Gage Grassick, of Prince Albert, with teammates Marah Dykstra, Jade Belmore, and Mackenzie Smith ended the tournament by defeating Mexico 18-13 in the final game.
Canada Games are midway
With the 2025 Canada Summer Games passing the halfway mark, Team Saskatchewan has totalled four medals, including one gold and three bronze.
As of Aug. 18, Saskatchewan’s 2025 Summer Games medallists are as follows:
- Leo Zheng, gold in Para swimming
- Baer Roberston, bronze in canoe kayak
- Men’s Baseball, bronze
- Women’s Beach Volleyball, bronze
