Canada finishes seventh at WBSC Softball World Cup

Regina’s Kenzie Newman and Team Canada wrapped their time at the WBSC U15 Women’s Softball World Cup in Milan, Italy.

Canada went undefeated in placement rounds, defeating American Samoa 7-0 and Spain 6-3 to finish seventh overall in standings.

White City’s Claire Griffin joined as an alternate.

Canada’s 15s team start strong

The Canadian women’s rugby team had a strong start to their South Africa tour, with their first match taking place on July 5 in Pretoria.

Gabrielle Senft, of Regina, joined Canada for their 50-20 victory over the Springbok team.

Canada will look ahead to achieving similar results when they have their second match against South Africia on July 12.

WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Finals commence

Prince Albert is hosting countries from around the globe for the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Finals 2025.

Saskatoon’s Devon McCullough and Delisle’s Max Major will join Team Canada in competition from July 8-13, with their first game taking place this evening against New Zealand.

Erlam, Mary to represent Canada

Margo Erlam, who trains out of Saskatoon, will be joining her coach Mary Carroll in representing Canada at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships from July 11 – Aug. 3, in Singapore.

Erlam is set to compete in the women’s 1-metre and 3-m events.
