Canada makes Rugby World Cup semi-finals

Canada has secured a spot in semi-finals after dominating Australia 46–5, bringing them 4-0 overall at the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Regina’s Gabrielle Senft and Team Canada will prepare for their match against third-ranked New Zealand on Sept. 19.

Canada 2-1 at 2025 WBSC Americas U23 Men’s Pan American Championship

Team Canada had a mix start to their time at the 2025 WBSC Americas U23 Men’s Pan American Championship in Argentina.

Prince Albert’s Ryan Bicknell, alongside Delisle’s Max Major and Will Major joined Canada in their 4-0 loss to Mexico, before making back-to-back wins, 5-4 over Guatemala and 11-0 against Peru.

Canada is set to play the host team next.

Johnson finished 24th Senior World Championships

Saskatoon’s Andrew Johnson finished 24th in the 92-kilogram freestyle class at the 2025 Senior World Wrestling Championships.

After falling 5-0 to Sweden’s Samuel Scherrer, Johnson’s time at the championships concluded.
