Silver for Canada at Rugby World Cup
In front of a record crowd, Regina’s Gabrielle Senft and the Canadian women’s rugby team took home silver after a 33-13 loss to top-ranked England in the Rugby World Cup final.
Frisky joins Canada for U18 Women’s World Cup
Emma Frisky, who hails from Saskatoon, joined the Canadian U18 Women’s National Softball Team for the U18 Women’s World Cup in Oklahoma City.
Canada had a slow start to the tournament, with four-straight losses, before dominating Czechia 12-1 in their final game. The red and white finished last in Group A standings.
In addition, Melfort’s Keith Mackintosh led the team as head coach.
Canadian record for Renneberg
Ashlynn Renneberg, of Saskatoon, attended her first World Para Athletics Championships, hosted in New Delhi, India.
Renneberg set a Canadian record in the women’s F13 javelin with a distance of 33.20-metres and finished in tenth place.
