Porter joins Canada in history
Regina-born Nash Porter joined Canada’s U17 men’s water polo team in making history at the 2025 PanAm Aquatics Championships from May 13-25 in Medellin, Colombia.
Canada claimed the country’s first gold in the U17 event after going 6-1 in round robin play, before defeating Argentina 23-4 in quarterfinals and the United States 17-11 in semifinals.
The Canadians edged Brazil to a 11-10 loss to secure the top of the podium.

Grassick honoured as U SPORTS Female Athlete of the Year
Prince Albert’s Gage Grassick was named the 2024-25 recipient of the Lois and Doug Mitchell Female Athlete of the Year Award.
Grassick’s performance with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies’ women’s basketball team led to her being the school’s first-ever female student-athlete to claim the award.
Three Saskatchewan divers at Canada Cup of Diving
From June 5-8, three Saskatchewan divers are set to represent the nation at the Canada Cup of Diving in Gatineau, Quebec.
Rylan Wiens of Pike Lake will join Saskatoon’s Margo Erlam and Kash Tarasoff at the international competition to compete against 10 other countries.

Saskatchewan at Wheelchair Rugby Nationals
Saskatchewan wrapped their time at the Wheelchair Rugby Nationals in Montreal.
After going 3-2 in pool play, Team Saskatoba (a combined team with Saskatchewan and Manitoba athletes) finished third in Pool A standings but did not advance to finals.
