June 2, 2025
Since 2000, Canada has joined numerous other countries in the celebration of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and their history. As designated, June marks Pride Month and features various forms of celebratory events to honour the history associated with the month.
Throughout June, Sask Sport will share stories every Monday that celebrate Pride though the lens of sport and explore how the power of sport can be used toward creating an inclusive and safe space for participants.
We encourage individuals to take the time to be part of the change to making sport more safe, inclusive and inviting.

Why is Pride Month Important in Sport
Dedicated to creating an equitable and inclusive Canadian sport system, Canadian Women & Sport has shared various resources to assist sport organizations and leaders in expanding their knowledge around an inclusive and safe environment for 2SLGBTQ+ women, girls, and gender-diverse individuals.
