Newman, Team Canada at the U15 Women’s Pan American Championship
Regina softball player, Kenzie Newman is representing Team Canada at the U15 Women’s Pan American Championship from March 22-29 in Acapulco, Mexico.
The red and white wrapped group play after losing to host team Mexico 4-1and sit third in Group B standings.
Canada started the event with mixed results, first edging Peru to a 6-5 loss, before falling 9-0 to Puerto Rico and claiming another close victory 3-2 over Colombia.

Oatway at FIS Para Alpine Ski World Cup
Para alpine skier Kurt Oatway, who has ties to Regina, competed at the FIS Para Alpine Ski World Cup in Gatineau, Quebec.
He finished sixth in the men’s sitting category.
Schwinghammer secures bronze
Saskatoon-born, Maia Schwinghammer finished third at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships in Engadin, Switzerland.
Schwinghammer received a score of 74.92 points in the women’s moguls and had the top air score among the three medallists.
Clark named to Team Canada
Hockey Canada has announced Saskatoon forward, Emily Clark as part of the 25 players named to Team Canada for the 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship.
From April 9-20, Canada will compete in Ceske Budejovice, Czechia, against Finland, Switzerland, the United States and host Czechia.

Saskatchewan curlers wrap at Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship
Three Saskatchewan curlers concluded their time in P.E.I for the 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship.
Humboldt’s Kirk Muyres and Edmonton’s Laura Walker went 7-0 in the round robin, before falling 6-4 in playoffs against Team Halifax.
Meanwhile Nancy Martin and Steve Laycock, both of Martensville, wrapped pool play 5-2 but also loss in playoffs against Team Lott 9-4.
