Arnold, Gavel off to Wisconsin
Goaltender Tracey Arnold who hails from Saskatoon was named to Team Canada for the 2022 Women’s World Para Ice Hockey Wold Challenge in Green Bay, Wisc. Arnold is one of two goaltenders and 16 players on Canada’s roster for the tournament which will take place from Aug. 23-29.
Joining Arnold in Wisconsin is Prince Albert product Erica Gavel, who will serve as the team’s physiologist.
Ostepechuk, Goncin to suit up for Canada
A pair of Regina products are back competing on the world stage, as Garrett Ostepchuk and Nik Goncin are each a part of Team Canada’s roster for an Italy-based training camp ahead of the 2022 IWBF Americas Cup.
As a part of the eight-day camp, Canada will play six games against Italy, Poland and Spain from June 7-12. The camp is a lead in for the Americas Cup in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which gets underway July 13. Four of the tip six teams at the event will qualify for November’s IWBF World Championships which will take place in Dubai, UAE.
