Crozon and Team Canada add to their collection of wins 

Humbolt’s Paige Crozon rejoined Team Canada in Quebec City for the eighth stop of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series August 18-19 in Quebec City. 

Canada once again climbed their way to the top of the podium, defeating the United States 21-19. 

The next stop in the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series is set for August 22-23 in Azerbaijan.  

Canada’s National U18 Team is victorious in three-game series against USA 

Canada’s women’s U18 hockey team dominated the three-game series in Lake Placid, claiming victory against the United States in every meeting. 

Stryker Zablocki from Prince Albert made her mark in the first game of the trilogy by assisting with the opening goal. 

Team Canada had a clean sweep against the USA and defeated them 4-0 in the first game, followed by a 6-1 victory, before concluding their streak with a 5-2 win.  

Gymnastics Canada celebrates success at 2023 World Gymnaestrada  

Team Canada had 670 participants, including gymnasts, coaches, staff and managers attend the 2023 World Gymnaestrada from July 30 to August 5 in Amsterdam. 

Canada’s delegation was one of the top 10 largest groups to attend the world stage for gymnastics. Gymnastics Saskatchewan’s Dalena Juarez joined Canada for the world event.

Wheelchair Basketball Canada hosts NextGen Camp  

Wheelchair Basketball Canada hosted 16 young athletes at the NextGen Camp from August 15-19 in Richmond. 

The camp offered athletes an opportunity to work with Wheelchair Basketball Canada’s high-performance staff and possibly earn a future chance to join the Women’s Under-25 and Men’s Under-23 teams. 

Hunter Berg from Swift Current attended the NextGen Camp and Saskatoon’s Jared Sajtos was one of the camp’s coaches. 

Lisa DeJong carved her way into history at the 2022 Beijing Paralympic Winter Games 

Biggar’s Lisa DeJong claimed silver and title of first Canadian to win a Para-snowboard medal at the Paralympic Games and was recognized recently for her performance in Beijing. DeJong was awarded the Canadian Paralympic Sport Award for Best Paralympic Debut by a Female Athlete at the Beijing 2022 Games. 

Canada’s diving team is announced for Santiago 2023 

Diving Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee released the nominated athletes set to attend the 2023 Santiago Pan American Games from October 20 to November 5 in Chile.  

Rylan Wiens from Pike Lake was announced as part of the diving team. Santiago 2023 marks another step towards Wiens qualifying for Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
