Canadian Para hockey team splits series against U.S.
Under head coach Ken Babey of Saskatoon, the Canadian Para hockey team took on the United States in a pair of exhibition series October 29 and 30 in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
The Canadians opened the series with a 4-2 victory, but the Americans evened things out the following night, defeating Canada 4-1.
“[The series] gives us a good sense of where we are at with our team, but also as individuals and how our guys are matching up [with the Americans],” said Babey in a Hockey Canada release. “We are playing against the defending Paralympic champions and world champions, and they are the measuring stick for us. We learned a lot about our team this week, but we still have some work to do when we get back home to Canada.”
