Rousell brings home hardware from IWAS Wheelchair Fencing Americas Championships
Saskatoon’s Ryan Rousell captured two gold medals at the 2022 International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation Wheelchair Fencing Americas Championship in Sao Paulo, Brazil the weekend.
Rousell finished first place in the sabre category on Oct. 22 and followed that up with another gold medal performance in the men’s epee category A on Oct. 23. Rousell had previously collected silver in the 2018 event.

Senft, Canada advance to semifinals at Rugby World Cup
The Canadian women’s rugby team, featuring Regina’s Gabrielle Senft, defeated the United States 32-11 to earn a berth in the semifinals at the Women’s Rugby World Cup. The third-ranked Canadians will face No. 1 England, the tournament favourite, on Friday at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand.
The game will air live on TSN at 9:30 p.m.

Emily Clark named to Canada’s roster for Rivalry Series
Saskatoon product Emily Clark will once again be suiting up for Team Canada’s National Women’s Hockey team as she was one of 23 players selected to play in this year’s Rivalry Series against the USA.
The seven-game series begins Nov. 15 in Kelowna, with the second game happening two days later on Nov. 17 in Kamloops. The series will shift to Seattle on Nov. 20.
Clark is one of 16 returning players who won both Olympic and world hockey championship gold this year.

Deck secures spot at World Junior Diving Championships
After a second-place finish at the Junior World Diving Championship Trials, Regina diver Presley Deck has qualified for the FINA World Junior Diving Championship, set for Nov. 27 to Dec. 4 in Montreal.
With coach Mary Carroll, Deck was one of four Saskatchewan divers competing over the weekend looking to make Team Canada.

Metheral selected to represent Canada at Gymnastics World Championships
Regina’s Hannah Metheral will be part of the Canadian contingent heading to Sofia, Bulgaria from Nov. 16-19 to compete at the 2022 Trampoline, Tumbling, and DMT Gymnastics World Championships.
Metheral will be one of five Canadian women competing in the double mini trampoline. She will be part of a group of 17 gymnastics traveling to compete in the event.

Pedrick competes at World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
Wilcox’s Denelle Pedrick competed in three events at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships on the weekend in Liverpool. Pedrick finished 18th on vault, 39th on floor exercise and 66th on balance beam.
Pedrick is one of 12 Canadian gymnasts at the event, which wraps up on Nov. 6.
