Klimchuk announced for Canada’s men’s rugby roster   

Regina’s Matthew Klimchuk will join the 32-player roster for Canada’s Men’s 15s Rugby Team from November 11 – 18, in Spain. 

The tournament will feature four teams, Spain, Canada, Brazil and the United States. Canada will face Spain in the first leg of the games.  

Soliman set to join Team Canada for Parapan Am Games 

Quebec-born swimmer Myriam Soliman, who moved to Saskatoon to train with Saskatoon Laser’s coach, Ryan Jones, has been announced to join the Canadian Parapan American Team for Santiago 2023 from November 17 – 26. 

The newest Laser member, Soliman will be attending the Games for a second time, first making an appearance at the 2019 Parapan Am Games in Lima, where she claimed bronze in the women’s S6 100-metre backstroke. 

Senft, Canada defeated in WXV1 second round   

Gabrielle Senft, who hails from Regina, joined Team Canada in the second match of the WXV1 against England, losing 45-12. 

Canada is set to play France in the final round of the WXV1 games Nov. 4, in New Zealand. 

Nickel finished 37th at U23 World Championships 

Aleah Nickel, a Regina local, concluded her time at the U23 Wrestling World Championships in Tirana, Albania on Oct. 29. 

Nickel competed against France’s Ameline Douarre, winning 6-4 and qualified for the quarterfinals, against India’s Bhagyashree Hanumant Fand in the 62-Kilogram weight class, losing 8-3 and finishing 37th

Fish among 18 Speed Skaters for ISU World Cup  

Moose Jaw’s Graeme Fish is one of 18 speeder skaters set to represent Canada at the first four ISU World Cup Speed Skating events late this year.  

The first event will kick off in Obihiro, Japan (Nov. 10-12) and will be followed by events in Beijing, China (Nov. 17-19), Stavanger, Norway (Dec. 1-3) and Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland (Dec. 8-10). 

Fish will join Canada’s long track team and use the World Cup to prepare himself for a pair of international events coming to Canada February 2024.
