Saskatchewan divers wrap up in Budapest

Rylan Wiens of Pike Lake and Margo Erlam, who trains in Saskatoon, both wrapped up their time in Budapest at the 2022 FINA World Championships.

Wiens finished ninth in the men’s 10 metre platform event, after claiming a bronze medal alongside teammate Nathan Zsombor-Murray in the men’s 10 metre synchro event earlier in the competition. Meanwhile, Erlam and teammate Mia Vallee finished fifth in the women’s 3 metre springboard synchro event.

Both Wiens and Erlam will be representing Canada at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. The diving events at the Games run from Aug. 4 to 7.

Another big competition upcoming for Harrison

After getting named to Team Canada for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Michelle Harrison is officially adding another stop in her already busy summer. The Saskatoon product will be competing in the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Harrison will enter the competition fresh off a national championship win in the 100 metre hurdles in Langley, B.C. with a time of 12.99.

Goncin, Ostepchuk suit up for Canada

Regina products Nik Goncin and Garrett Ostepchuk each suited up for Canada during their four-game exhibition series against the Netherlands.

The series was the final tune-up prior to Canada’s upcoming trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil for the Americas Cup.
