Four Saskatchewan divers reach the podium at Junior Development National Championships
Regina played host to the 2024 Junior Development National Championships from July 18-21, with four Saskatchewan divers claiming multiple podium results.
Hawksley Burnett, of Regina, competed in the men’s Group D and finished first in the 3-metre dive event with 213.45 total points and first in the platform dive event with 227.40 points. In addition, he placed second in the 1-m event with 203.40 points.
In women’s events, Regina’s Lauren Vickaryous finished first in the Group C platform dive event with 284.00 points and second in the 3-m final with 303.20 points, while Regina’s Arie McNaughton placed second in the Group D platform final with 207.60 total points.
Saskatoon’s Jane Lafreniere claimed third in the Group D 1-m final with 204.30 total points.

Johnson to join Canada at WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals
Amy Johnson, who hails from Saskatoon, was named to the 2024 women’s national team roster for the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup Finals, set to take place July 28-Aug. 3 in Thunder Bay.
Johnson will be joined by 19 other players as they compete against Japan, Mexico, the United States, Venezuela and the Chinese Taipei for gold.
