Hudak takes gold
Prince Albert’s Brittany Hudak contributed to one of Canada’s four gold medals collected at the IBU Para biathlon World Cup in Val di Fiemme, Italy.
After competing in the sprint pursuit, she claimed her first gold of the season.
Oatway to compete at fourth World Cup stop
Kurt Oatway, who has Regina connections, will help represent Canada’s Para alpine team at the Para Alpine Skiing Worlds from Feb. 5-11 in Maribor, Slovenia.
He will look to add to his impressive world circuit medal collection.
Four CSCS athletes and four high-performance coaches were recognized at Saskatchewan Sport Awards
On January 30 in Saskatoon, Sask Sport announced Rylan Wiens (diving), Shelby Newkirk (Para swimming), Etta Love (Olympic weightlifting) and Kash Tarasoff (diving) as the Athletes of the Year.
Meanwhile, Mary Carroll (diving) was named Coach of the Year with David Calam (lawn bowling), Denise Fernadez (tennis) and Carla Nicholls (athletics) being recognized in the Coach Dedication category.
