Canada secures silver
Team Canada wrapped their time at the 2026 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship by securing silver after falling 2-0 against the United States.
Saskatoon forward Alida Korte helped Canada go 3-0 through preliminary action, before dominating Finland 12-0 in quarterfinals and carrying the winning streak through semifinals to defeat Czechia 8-1.

Nortsen, Senft join Canada for 2026 HSBC SVNS Series
Waldheim’s Carissa Nortsen and Regina’s Gabrielle Senft are back in action with Team Canada for the next two stops of the 2026 HSBC SVNS Series, beginning Jan. 31 in Singapore and Perth, Australia, Feb. 7.
Canada will play France to open their time in Singapore, followed by games against New Zealand and Great Britian.
Four Sask archers to represent Canada at 2026 World Archery 3D Championships
Archery Canada announced the 26-person roster, which includes four Saskatchewan athletes, who will represent Canada at the 2026 World Archery 3D Championships in Lac La Biche, Alberta.
Jovica Djukic, Blair St. Amant and Sarah St. Amant, will all be traveling from North Battleford and will join La Loche’s Andrea S. Wiens for the event.

Schwinghammer secures ticket to Olympics
Canada’s Olympic freestyle skiing team has been announced and includes Saskatoon’s Maïa Schwinghammer, who will be making her Olympic debut in moguls for Milano Cortina 2026.
