Norsten named captain of Team Canada

Carissa Norsten, who hails from Waldheim, will be leading Canada’s Women’s Sevens Team into the 11th edition of HSBC SVNS Vancouver, as captain.

The fifth stop of the series will be taking place from March 7-8, with Canada playing the United States, Australia and Fiji.

Canada fourth at WBSC Americas Men’s Pan American Championship

Delisle’s Max Major and Team Canada finished fourth at the WBSC Americas Men’s Pan American Championship after falling 1-0 to Venezuela the bronze-medal game.

The red and white went 6-3 through preliminary play before securing their place to play for a medal.

Those results qualified Canada for the 2028 WBSC World Cup Group Stage and the Pan American Games.

Two Sask divers compete at Aquatics Diving World Cup

Two Saskatchewan divers represented the country at the first stop of the 2026 World Aquatics Diving World Cup, which took place in Montreal from Feb. 26-March 1.

Margo Erlam, who trains out of Saskatoon, finished 8th in the women’s three-metre final with 304.15 points.

Meanwhile on the men’s side, Pike Lake’s Rylan Wiens finished 16th in the 10-m event with 390.10 points and did not advance to finals.

Connell named to roster for 2026 Pan American Championships

Racquetball Canada announced Saskatoon’s Lee Connell as part of the roster set to compete at the 2026 Pan American Championships, taking place March 27-April 4, in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Connell is set to compete in the mixed doubles category.
