Keely Shaw brings home silver from UCI Cycling World Championships
Midale’s Keely Shaw is attending the UCI Cycling World Championships from Aug. 3 -13, in Glasgow Scotland.
Shaw was the only Canadian to make the top four in C4 Individual Pursuit Qualifiers and was guaranteed a medal in the Women’s C4 Individual Pursuit Finals.
Shaw placed second in the women’s C4 Individual Pursuit Qualifiers, finishing 7.094 seconds behind Australia.
Newkirk claims second medal at 2023 Manchester Para Swimming World Championships
Shelby Newkirk from Saskatoon, claimed her second medal of the championships before the event ended Aug. 6, in Manchester. Newkirk swam her way to a bronze medal in the S6 10 metre freestyle.
Meadow Lake’s Nikita Ens placed eighth in the women’s S3 100-m freestyle category.
Team Canada dominates the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and brings home gold
Prince Albert’s Ryder Ritchie was joined by Berkly Catton and Roger McQueen from Saskatoon on Team Canada for the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup from July 31 to Aug. 4, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Team Canada won their 24th gold medal in overtime, against Czechia, 3-2 in the U18 competition. Catton scored in every game of the tournament, helping bring Canada to gold.
