Shaw’s summer comes to a close in fashion

Midale’s Keely Shaw finished her season in fine form, as she won a pair of bronze medals at the 2022 Para cycling World Championships in Baie-Comea, Quebec. Shaw won bronze in both the women’s C4 70.2-kilomtre road race and the women’s C4 time trial, as she closed the calendar year with eight podium finishes in all eight of her international races.

Clark set for another appearance on the world stage

Emily Clark was named to Team Canada’s roster for the upcoming 2022 IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championship, which is set to get underway later this month in Denmark. Clark, who was a part of Canada’s gold medal winning squad at the 2022 Olympic Games, will be chasing after her sixth world championship medal of her career.

Madol, Ferrara Horne claim Canada Games silver

Regina products Ajok Madol and Neveah Ferrara Horne both starred for Team Saskatchewan’s silver medal winning women’s basketball team at the Canada Summer Games. Saskatchewan defeated Quebec 61-57 in the semifinal, before falling short to Alberta in the gold medal game with a 71-60 loss.

Chavez shines at Canada Games

Regina’s Leah Chavez went 5-1 in her singles matches at the Canada Summer Games for Saskatchewan. Chavez helped Saskatchewan finish sixth in the mixed teams competition at the Games.

Shirley, Messier named to Canada’s National Women’s Development Team

Ashley Messier and Sophie Shirley joined Clark as Sask. players named to Hockey Canada squads this week. Shirley, a Saskatoon product, and Messier, a Wilcox product, were among a 23-player squad that will play for Canada in a three-game series against USA. Shirley was previously named to the team in 2019.
