Nik Goncin and Garrett Ostepchuk, Men’s Wheelchair Basketball
On Monday, Goncin and Ostepchuk joined Team Canada for another win in the final preliminary game against Argentina, winning 56-49.
The Canadian squad has qualified for quarterfinals on Wednesday with their opponent yet to be announced.
Mitch McIntyre, Wheelchair Tennis – Quad Singles & Doubles
Mitch McIntyre, an Esterhazy local, competed in two matches on Tuesday and concluded his time in Santiago.
In his first game of the day, McIntyre lost 0-2 (3-6, 2-6) in the quad singles quarterfinal against Chile’s Francisco Cayulef. He later competed in the quad doubles quarterfinal with partner Robert Shaw, and was edged to a 1-2 (3-6, 6-3, 10-2) loss.
McIntyre finished fifth in quad singles and in quad doubles.
Myriam Soliman, Para Swimming
Myriam Soliman swam for the third time Tuesday morning, placing sixth.
In the women’s 100-metre backstroke S7, Soliman finished with a 1:44.60 time. She is set to compete twice on Wednesday.
