Arthurs finished ninth at 2025 U23 World Wrestling Championships
Judah Arthurs, who hails from Saskatoon, wrapped his time at the 2025 U23 World Wrestling Championships with a ninth-place finish in the men’s 92-kilogram freestyle category.
Arthurs started strong with a win by fall, 3-6 over Mongolia’s Demchigdorj Tumurbaatar, before he fell 11-1 against India’s Sachin Sachin in the Round of 16.
Saskatoon hosts Skate Canada International
From Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, Saskatoon will host the world’s top figure skaters for the 51st edition of Skate Canada International. This event will be the third stop on the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series.

Five Sask. speed skaters competed at 2025 Canadian Long Track Championships
Five Saskatchewan speed skaters competed at the 2025 Canadian Long Track Championships from Oct. 23-26, in Calgary. The results from the competition will be used to select the skaters who will represent Canada on the World Cup circuit this season.
Moose Jaw’s Marc-André Doyon, finished fifth in the men’s 1,000-metre event with a 1:10.92 second time.
Meanwhile, Saskatoon’s Luca Veeman finished eighth the men’s 1,500-m event with a time of 1:46.27 seconds.
Others who competed were Fergus English, Bon Lowe and Graeme Fish.

Two Sask. teams wrap time at Home Hardware Curling Pre-Trials
Team Ashley Thevenot and Team Nancy Martin, who both hail from Martensville, concluded their time at the Home Hardware Pre-Trials.
Team Thevenot went 4-3 in the round robin to finish third in standings before they played Team MacMillan in semifinals and loss 6-4.
Meanwhile, Team Martin went 2-5 in pool play and did not advance.
