Senft, Canada dominates with second Women’s Rugby World Cup win

Regina’s Gabrielle Senft and Team Canada brought the heat for their second match at the Women’s Rugby World Cup, dominating Wales 42-0 and securing their place in quarterfinals.

Canada currently sits top of Pool B and will wrap round robin play Sept. 6 against Scotland.

Five Sask. water polo athletes at 2025 15U Pan American Championships 

The Canadian men’s and women’s teams opened the 2025 15U Pan American Championships with mixed results.

On Sept. 1, Regina’s Sebastian Reyna and the men’s squad began the championship with a 10-9 win over Argentina.

Meanwhile, Estevan’s Jennika Linthicum alongside Regina’s Dylan Martens, Clara Milleker Shyiak and Alexis Rotheisler joined Canada’s women’s team in a 10-9 loss against the USA.

Both Canadian teams are set to compete against Brazil next.

Sask. medals at 2025 Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships

Three Saskatchewan athletes earned medals at the 2025 Canoe Kayak Canada Sprint National Championships, which took place from Aug. 26- 29 in Regina.

Regina’s Eve Wilson claimed two medals, a silver in the women’s U16 K1 6,000-metre event and a bronze in the K1 1,000-metre event.

While Regina’s Baer Robertson and partner Emmet Patterson finished second in the men’s U18 C2 1,000-m race.
