A second-place finish at the Canadian Olympic Diving Trials earned Pike Lake’s Rylan Wiens a ticket to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo where he’ll be joined by his coach, Saskatoon’s Mary Carroll.
With 983.05 points, Wiens claimed one of Canada’s two men’s 10-metre platform spots for the Tokyo Games, one of which he helped earn at the FINA World Cup Diving event in May.
This will be the first Olympics for Wiens and the first for Carroll as a coach — she competed as an athlete at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.
