Hall receives Level IV certification
Softball Canada and the Officials Development Committee announced the recent 17 umpires who successfully achieved their Level IV certification.
Matt Hall, who hails from Saskatoon, is one of the 11 fast pitch umpires to receive the certification, which marks a significant milestone on an umpire’s path.
Sask. athletes claim two medals at Cadet PanAmerican Cup
From Nov. 13-14, Saskatchewan athletes competed at two international judo events in Montreal.
At the Cadet PanAmerican Cup, Saskatoon’s Azra Benic competed in the women’s 70-kilogram category to claim silver. Meanwhile, Anna Li, of Regina, finished with a bronze medal in the female 48-kg category.

Fish starts speed skating season
Moose Jaw’s Graeme Fish competed at the first ISU World Cup Speed Skating event of the season, finishing 21st in the men’s 5000-metre Division B event with a time of 6:17.96 seconds.

Lautsch recipient of Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Award
Eric Lautsch, of Swift Current, was honoured with a Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Award at the Petro-Canada Sport Leadership Awards Gala on Nov. 14.
The awards were developed to recognize coaches whose athletes have excelled at world championships, Olympic and Paralympic Games and at the Special Olympics World Games.
Dash to make Paralympic debut in wheelchair curling
After helping secure Canada a berth to the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games in wheelchair curling, Kipling’s Gil Dash will make his Paralympic debut with Team Canada in the mixed team tournament.
