Regina’s Mark McMorris got off to a strong start in 2022, finishing fourth at the FIS Snowboard World Cup in Calgary Dec. 31, 2021 to Jan. 1, 2022.
Competing in the slopestyle event, McMorris finished first in his qualifier on Friday with a score of 92.25 points to advance to Saturday’s final, where he came in fourth with a score of 81.96.
The two-time Olympic bronze medallist is aiming to qualify for his third Games. Qualification for Beijing will be based off of points athletes accumulate from World Cup and World Championship results.

One of the things we do know is that National Sport Organizations (NSOs) must submit their athlete nominations to the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) by Jan. 19. That information must then be submitted to the Beijing organizers five days later.
