Mindfulness Considerations for Sport Performance

This webinar will provide an overview of mindfulness including informal and formal strategies. Participants will explore the benefits of mindfulness practices on mental health and well-being. Participants will leave the webinar with an increased understanding of the connection between mindfulness and performance in sport and ways to implement daily practices.

Facilitator: Shelbi Snodgrass, MC, RCC, CCC, CMPC

Registration: Open to all registered COPSIN athletes. Closes Dec. 10, 2024

About the facilitator:

Shelbi is completing her Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the University of Calgary and is the co-founder of Snodgrass and Duff Performance Consulting and Counselling Inc. Her research explores athlete identity and experiences of burnout. Shelbi’s formal training is in the areas of mental health, addiction and recovery, and performance psychology. Her approach to counselling centres around collaboration, the exploration of intersecting identity development, self-empowerment, and leadership. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), a Certified Mental Performance Consultant ® (CMPC) with the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, a professional member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA), and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Shelbi is also a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher. Outside of work, Shelbi enjoys traveling, fitness classes, and spending time with family and friends.
