Sports medicine and science are an integrated part of sporting performance. This workshop in collaboration with the Sport Science & Medicine Council Saskatchewan, will help coaches better plan and implement a more holistic sports science and medicine program.

Presenter: Stephanie Mehlsen (CSCS IST Planner)
Stephanie grew up paddling on the mighty Wascana Lake in Regina. She earned several national medals and records and represented Canada at Junior Worlds for sprint kayak. She went on to coach athletes locally, to national medals, as well as at two Canada Summer Games. She has since worked on a variety of teams: Fitness and Lifestyle unit of the RCMP, as a Strength and Conditioning consultant with the Sports Medicine & Science Council of Saskatchewan (SMSCS), on multidisciplinary teams within rehabilitation clinics, as a six-person team to canoe across Canada, and as a parent advocating for optimal health services and education for a child with a disability. Her current role as IST planner with SMSCS aims to assist coaches to best utilize the sport medicine and science services available in Saskatchewan.
