Home Team Concept - Commonwealth Games Canada (CGC)
The 2010 Commonwealth Games will be held in Delhi, India - October 3 to 14, 2010. Canada, which finished third overall at the 2006 Games in Melbourne, Australia, is expected to send a highly competitive team of approximately 400 athletes, coaches, and volunteers. Given the likelihood that few Canadian media will attend these Games, the primary objective of the Communications Team is to generate local print, broadcast, and online coverage about hometown athletes and coaches. >> more NEWS

National Team Coaching Apprenticeship Program Graduate Promoted by Athletics Canada

Carla Nicholls of Regina, a graduate of the Coaching Association of Canada's (CAC) National Team Coaching Apprenticeship Program (NTAP), has been promoted to the position of National Talent Development Coach for Athletics Canada's Olympic Program. She remains responsible for the organization's Women in Coaching initiatives and continues as National Event Group Coach for Combined Events, Jumps, and Hurdles. She is also Canada's head coach at the 2010 world junior championships slated to take place in Moncton, N.B., in July. >> more NEWS

Chevrolet Announces 2010 High Performance and Community Club Coach Grant Recipients
Ten Canadian high performance coaches and their Olympic hopeful athletes were each awarded a $10,000 grant for coach development through Chevrolet’s Making Dreams Possible Program. In addition, 51 community clubs from across Canada each received a grant of $2,000 for coach training and development activities. >> more NEWS

Saskatoon's Odegard first at racquetball nationals

Tim Landeryou of Saskatoon placed second at the Canadian racquetball championships in Burnaby, B.C. Landeryou was beaten by Mike Green of Burlington, Ont., 15-11, 9-15, 11-4 in the singles final Saturday. Landeryou beat Kris Odegard of Saskatoon in a semifinal in three games.
