SASKATCHEWAN TO PARTICIPATE IN THE VANCOUVER 2010 OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC WINTER GAMES

The Government of Saskatchewan is pleased to announce that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC). Rachelle de Jong found success with the Canadian rowing team by doubling her fun.

De Jong, a 29-year-old native of Regina, was an injured alternate with Canada's heavyweight eight women's team when the 2004 Summer Olympics were held in Athens. She received all of the gear associated with being part of the Olympic team but wasn't allowed to stay in the Olympic Village with the other athletes while she rested a herniated disc. >> more
