Understanding Team Selection Process
Canadian athletes, coaches, officials and other members of the sport community are subject to a selection process in order to participate in the various sporting events at the different levels. The process by which they are selected can lead to disagreements and disputes. The Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC) has published this brochure to assist members of the sport community to understand the basic principles of team selection and to build sound team selection policies that will reduce the risk of disputes. >> more NEWS

Regina gymnasts Danielle Roy and Dennis Oppenlander have qualified for the Canadian gymnastic championships in Kamloops, May 24-30, after competing at Elite Canada on the weekend. Roy placed eighth in the preliminaries for the women's tumbling with a score of 54.500. Due to an illness, she was unable to compete in the finals, but her score qualified her for Kamloops.

Pavilion's legacy will benefit Sask. children

Children throughout the province will be the beneficiaries of the Saskatchewan 2010 Legacy Fund. The Province of Saskatchewan has earmarked $400,000 in Olympic and Paralympic sponsorship money to the fund, which will benefit young people who pursue sport, culture and recreation opportunities. The fund is expected to be accessed by 1,000 children over the next two years.
