Renae Barks Sport: Rowing Barks, 18, won the gold medal in the open single and the lightweight single 2000+ at the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Association, and she was the first woman to win both events in the same year. At the Junior National Team Trials she won gold in the Junior Women's single, and was selected to the Junior National Team. At the National Rowing Championships she placed first in the U23 lightweight 1x, and third place in the Senior lightweight 1x. At the World Rowing Junior Championships in the Czech Republic, Barks and her team placed ninth overall, and third in the B Final. |
