Lawrence, 18, and Swiegers, 21, won the silver medal at the Saskatchewan Canada Nationals, which qualified them for the Junior Grand Prix in Germany, where they finished fourth. At the 2008 Junior Grand Prix in Britain, the pair placed fifth and were chosen as an alternate for the Grand Prix final. They also won the silver medal at the 2008 Western Canadian Championships.
