A tribute to our friend and mentor in sport
Clayton Gerein
May 24, 1964 - January 22, 2010
Sport: Wheelchair Athletics
Hometown: Pilot Butte
Sport was “ More Than a Game” to Clayton Gerein. Sport was about being the best he could be, whether training, competing, mentoring, coaching, encouraging others, making life-long friends, having fun, or speaking out for what he believed in. Clayton was an ever-present beacon of pride for Saskatchewan and Canada...not only for his many long standing records and accomplishments as an athlete, but also as an ambassador and role model who epitomized the hard work, determination, passion and a friendly character that we all had the pleasure to know.
Although Clayton is no longer with us in person, his legacy will live on through the positive impact he made with the many people he touched. The following quote is an apt metaphor for his association with sport...
“Adversity causes some men to break, and others to break records.”

Our deepest sympathies go out to all Clayton’s family and friends.
